Christine Pemberton

LEARN is excited to announce Ms. Christine Pemberton as the next Director of Human Resources.

The Executive Committee of the LEARN Board of Directors unanimously approved Ms. Pemberton’s hiring on Friday, October 23. She begins her service to LEARN on Monday, November 23, replacing Nat Brown, who is leaving the Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) in December.

“I am thrilled that Christine has elected to join LEARN’s leadership team,” said LEARN Executive Director Kate Ericson. “Her expertise and enthusiasm for our vision and mission make her an ideal addition to our agency.”

Ms. Pemberton, of New London, has tremendous depth of knowledge in human resources leadership, school policy, and compliance. Her expertise will allow LEARN to continue to grow services, systemize processes, and provide support to all LEARN employees.

As Director of Human Resources, Ms. Pemberton will serve a core leadership position within the RESC. She will be trusted to not only support LEARN, but also to support member districts throughout the LEARN region in improving efficiencies and increasing the effectiveness of Human Resources operations.

“My hope is that LEARN staff will continue to feel cared for and supported by LEARN through Christine’s leadership,” Ericson said. “I am eager to partner with her in the development of programs that lead to the growth of all employees across roles and responsibilities.”

Ms. Pemberton’s experience in Human Resources spans across the banking and non-profit worlds to her most recent position as Director of Finance and Operations at the ISAAC School in New London. She describes her leadership style as one that “develops trust and collaborative relationships to build great human resources services for customers and employees throughout the organization.”

Prior to her work at the ISAAC School, Ms. Pemberton served as Director of Human Resources for The Arc of New London County, an organization advocating for the rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She was also an employee relations manager at Chelsea Groton Bank.

Ms. Pemberton is a graduate of Excelsior College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts. She is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Compliance from Liberty University.
