Jean Anne Jordan

LEARN is excited to announce that we have appointed Jean Anne Jordan as our new Assistant Director of Special Services. With an extensive background in speech-language pathology and over two decades of experience supporting students in public schools, Ms. Jordan adds a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our leadership team.

About the Role:

As the Assistant Director of Special Services, Ms. Jordan will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of support service contracts, projects, and initiatives. Her leadership will extend to providing professional development guidance to our support service team, fostering a culture of continuous growth and improvement. Collaborating within a transdisciplinary framework, Ms. Jordan will lead the effort to design and refine services, ensuring that our programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the creation and execution of support services contracts and projects.
  • Provide leadership in professional development initiatives for the Student Support Services Team.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive student support strategies.
  • Oversee the efficiency of program development intake and exit procedures for students.
  • Supervise and evaluate both non-certified and certified staff, contributing to their ongoing growth.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment that prioritizes student engagement and adult learning processes.

About Jean Anne Jordan:

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Ms. Jordan has demonstrated a deep commitment to improving the educational experiences of students with complex needs. Her expertise in supporting students with developmental delays, autism, dyslexia, and various language learning disabilities makes her a valued member of our team. Ms. Jordan’s holistic approach to teamwork ensures that she keeps both student engagement and adult learning at the forefront of her strategies. She holds a Sixth Year Certificate in Education Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Science in Communications Disorders, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences.

We are delighted to have Ms. Jordan join LEARN’s Leadership Team and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly continue to have on our Office of Student Support Services. Her passion for inclusive education and professional growth aligns perfectly with our vision to ensure every child has access to high-quality public education and opportunities.

Jessica Nemeth

LEARN is happy to introduce Jessica Nemeth as our new Special Education Supervisor. With a proven record of excellence and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs, Ms. Nemeth brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our Office of Student Support Services and LEARN’s Leadership Team.

About the Role:

As a Special Education Supervisor, Ms. Nemeth will ensure our students receive exceptional educational experiences. She will collaborate closely with the Student Support Services Team to provide high-quality instruction and supports to students with special needs. Her responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, including resource allocation, coaching, technical support, and the evaluation of special education personnel and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage specialized programs and curricular resources to meet the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs designed for students with special needs and contribute to ongoing program enhancements.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of staff development initiatives that promote continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Provide guidance and support for the implementation of special methods and strategies aimed at improving student achievement.
  • Observe, consult with, and evaluate special education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure high-quality instruction and support.

About Jessica Nemeth:

Ms. Nemeth comes to LEARN with a distinguished background in special education and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students. Her recent role as a support center teacher for special education students with complex social-emotional, behavioral, and cognitive needs at Waterford Public Schools showcases her expertise in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Ms. Nemeth’s experience in supporting students with trauma backgrounds aligns perfectly with our commitment to creating safe and nurturing spaces for learners. Her educational journey includes an 092 Educational Leadership Sixth Year Certificate of Advanced Studies in Administration from Sacred Heart University, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education.
